So I finally finished all the editing on my Scotland pictures. Not sure if I said this, but I really had a wonderful time. Taking a break from your everyday worries once in a while can be very rewarding, but at the same time returning from said break is usually nothing short of depressing. So now, while putting off my homework, I'll go through these pictures while trying to suppress the thought of this coming Thursday - one assignment and two multiple choice tests (none of which are mandatory, but
strongly encouraged to do).
We spent our first night in Edinburgh where we had a late dinner at a Scottish inspired Italian restaurant. I say Scottish inspired because daddy got mashed along with his dish. Very odd. The following day I convinced him we'd go shopping, considering I knew we would spend the rest of our stay at the quiet countryside where I was guessing wouldn't be booming with shops on every corner.
About mid day we took the train to Glasgow, where we were greeted by Cameron - a very old friend of my dad. And by the time we reached their house I was utterly exhausted from all the walking and traveling. Luckily we were greeted with amazing, amazing, amazing food (pasta dish pictured above), and the softest, nicest bed I have ever slept in. Complete bliss after a hard(ish) day, which was mainly spend emptying my wallet.
The rest of our visit was spent over-eating on Laurna's amazing cooking, seeing a huge variety of both sheep and cows (some very hairy, and some with what appeared to be strategically placed stripes), comparing everything to Norway, going in trips in the rain, feeling fresh-faced all the time due to the oh-so-good-and-clean air, practicing my Scottish accent (swear words in particular), visiting the mandatory castle and just generally being constantly baffled at how beautiful Scotland is. I'm so happy my dad invited me along, and looking back makes me sad I didn't have more time.
