Between 10-12 hour long sessions of intense studying and preparing for my exams, I managed to squeeze in a tiny birthday. My mum and I have a little tradition where she prepares a breakfast with one glass of julebrus (a red Christmas soft drink that they only sell during the winter months, it's heavenly I swear) a piece of cake, preferably the cake pictured, and presents. As I've grown older eating a large piece of cake so early in the morning can be a bit sickening, but considering it's a family tradition it feels too nostalgic to abandon. And the rest of my birthday was relatively uneventful and quiet, just the way I like it. Had a Christmas dinner at Resept which was ever so lovely. Nothing big, nothing fancy, just enjoying a delicious meal with my best friends and Roger. Felt so nice to finally see people again and socialize for a change. Exams really take the life out of you.
I apologize for the lack up updates this past month by the way. I've been pretty much been overwhelmed with exam preparations, and most of my days was spent in school living off microwave food (yuck). My last exam ended 16th and after that I I've been trying to juggle annoyingly late shifts at work with frantic Christmas shopping. Took a short break in Oslo to visit my dad, where I'm currently at, and somehow I managed to get really sick which I think is due to the immense stress I've been having lately. I'm sure it hasn't done my mind or my body any favours. Tomorrow I fly back to Stavanger, and on the 25th I'll finally have a long awaited two week long rest, which I'll be spending in Thailand with Roger! Multiple exclamation marks cannot express how excited I am. Plus I finally bought my last Christmas today which was a huge load off. Finally, the holidays can begin.
Yup, that pretty much sums up a rather hectic Christmas on my behalf. I hope you're having a wonderful, wonderful Christmas and happy New Year!
