Someone requested that I make a post dedicated to my jewellery, which I honestly thought was a very good idea. Here are just some random facts regarding me and what type of jewellery I like to wear:
- I go for dainty type of style, and hardly never will you see me wearing an eye catching statement piece.
- I usually wear the same necklace and/or bracelet for weeks straight without taking it off.
- My collection rarely expands, and I've had most of this stuff for years and years.
Most of them have a small story behind them, so even though I don't really like writing long blog entries with a ton of text, I'm going to make an exception.
1. Ying & yang necklace: Quite frankly I don't wear this necklace often, but I have had it for possibly a decade now, and I can never see myself getting rid of it. I think daddy used to have it in his old shop, and one day just randomly gave it to me, which have sparked a long-spanning love for ying & yang related things.
2. Gold fish necklace: This was a present from my uncle when my relatives came to Norway to attend my konfirmasjon (coming of age ceremony) back in 2005. It's the first time any of my Asian relatives have visited us in Norway, so I was really surprised and happy when I found out they were coming over. I remember I was getting ready in the bathroom, and my uncle just randomly came in and gave it to me. I still remember how he gave me a really sweet and genuine smile as he handed it over to me.
3. Blue Swarovski necklace: Roger bought me this for one of our anniversaries. I remember seeing a certain type of necklaces with Swarovski crystals on Youtube, and I thought they were absolutely gorgeous. Normally I just wear it without the crystal, because I think the chain is nice enough on it's own. It's probably the necklace I wear the most, and if you're interested in buying one it's from
DSK Jewelry.
4. Jade necklace: If I remember correctly ahma gave this to me when I was born. She was always decked out in jewellery from head to toe, and her clothes was always well put together. Thinking about this makes me realise how much I miss her, and if my house was burning down, this is one of the things I would try to save.

. Monk necklace: A spontaneous purchase at a
Big Buddha temple in Thailand. I feel kind of conscious showing this, because I'm not a religious person. But I knew that the money I paid for this necklace would go to the temple, so it felt right to buy it.
1. Jade bracelet: Another present from my relatives. Not really sure who gave this to me, and now that I look at it I realise that it's missing a stone. Not something I wear often these days, but I've had it for ages and I still like it very much.
2. Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet: Mummy gave me this for Christmas, and it's the
Dreamy logo enamel disk bracelet. Very pretty, and one of the few gold bracelets I have.
3. Elephant ankle bracelet: Bought this in Thailand when I went on holiday with Roger. Obviously I don't get much wear out of it, living in Northern Europe, but I'm still very glad I bought it. Will be sure to whip this out once the weather warms up.
4. Silver chain bracelet: Probably the bracelet I wear the most. Roger bought this for our 4th anniversary, and it was honestly quite of a shock. I remember us having a picnic up on this big rock overlooking a lake (very romantic, I know), and I when he presented me with this present, I was so utterly astounded. For the longest time I had wanted a simple and dainty silver bracelet, but I had never gotten around to buying one. So without me even mentioning that I wanted one (usually I give him a very specific list, very unromantic, I know) he had gone out and bought the one thing I actually wanted. It was a indeed an "aww" deserving moment.
5. Black beads bracelet: This doesn't really deserve to be in this collection, but I was wearing it in my last post, and thought it was appropriate to include it. It's just a random cheap one I got on sale last week, and there's no nice story behind it. Nonetheless, quite cute though.
1. Marc by Marc Jacobs ear studs: Not big on earrings, but I love these ear studs. Somehow they make me feel all classy and girly when I wear them, and since it was a Christmas present from mummy I just love them even more. Wrote about them in
this entry.
2. Silver ball studs: Kind of unappealing name (couldn't think of a nice one), but these were a Christmas present from Lena. Very pretty and understated, just the way I like it.
3. Half ball studs: Bought these last week, and they just made me realise that the only type of ear accessories I like would have to be studs.
1. Jade ring: Another present from ahma, and appropriately enough, it's a gold jade ring. You see my middle name, Lay, was given to me by my grandparents, and it means
the sound of the golden jade. Very fancy and Asian. Unfortunately it's a tad too small, but sometimes I bear the pain and just wear it out because I like it so much.
2. Shell ring: Random purchase from Accessorize a couple of years back. For some reason I've worn it quite often, and I think it's because it's sterling silver, which means I don't have to take it off when my wash my hands (huge pet peeve of mine).
3. Love ring: Another Accessorize ring. Had it for ages, and it's probably the ring I wear most often. Very dainty and unnoticeable, so it goes with pretty much anything.
4. Square ring: This is actually my cousin's ring, which I managed to unknowingly steal from her 4 years back. She let me borrow it one day, and somehow it came back to Norway with me. I wanted to give it back to her, but she said she didn't mind.
5. Diamond ring: Probably one of my most priced possessions. Yet another present from ahma (this lady was a giver), and I can't put into words how much I cherish this ring. I remember she took the ring off her finger and handed it over to me when we were sitting in a car. I thought she just wanted to show it to me, but when I wanted to give it back to her, daddy explained that she wanted me to have it. I was absolutely gobsmacked. This ring is reserved for special occasions, because I'm so afraid of losing it. It's gorgeous in real life, and I am so thankful that I have this piece to remember her by.
6. Skinny ring: Lena bought this in Paris last year, at a market I think. I'm currently head over heels in love with very thin rings, so this was absolutely perfect.
